Proposed Responsibilities

• Assist with planning and carrying out statutory audit assignments.
• Support risk assessments and identify areas requiring particular attention.
• Complete audit testing and document findings for senior colleagues to review.
• Prepare statutory financial statements under UK GAAP and relevant Financial Reporting Standards.
• Assist with tax computations and related compliance work where required.
• Obtain information from clients and communicate clearly about outstanding queries.
• Work with senior colleagues to complete assignments within agreed deadlines.
• Maintain organised working papers and accurate supporting documentation.

About You

The proposed role would suit someone who brings:

• Accountancy practice experience covering external audit and accounts preparation.
• Progress towards an ACA or ACCA qualification.
• An understanding of statutory financial statements and UK financial reporting requirements.
• Careful attention to detail when completing testing, computations and working papers.
• Clear communication skills and confidence working with clients and colleagues.
• Good organisation and the ability to manage competing deadlines.
• An interest in understanding clients’ businesses and developing commercial awareness.

Salary and Development

Indicative salary: £28,000–£35,000 per annum, based on market research. The employer’s salary range is to be confirmed.
