Client Manager – Sutton Coldfield

Garry Howling Recruitment is recruiting for a Client Manager opportunity in Sutton Coldfield for an experienced accountancy practice professional who can combine technical delivery with confident client management and commercially focused advice.

This is a broad, client-facing role suited to an established Client Manager or experienced practice accountant ready to take ownership of a portfolio and support clients beyond year-end compliance.

The Role

You will manage a varied portfolio of clients and act as a trusted point of contact across their accounting and day-to-day business requirements.

Responsibilities are expected to include:

• Managing and developing a portfolio of clients
• Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts
• Preparing and reviewing management accounts
• Overseeing bookkeeping and VAT work
• Supporting personal and corporate tax compliance
• Advising clients on day-to-day accounting and commercial matters
• Discussing management information and cash flow with clients
• Leading client meetings and responding to more complex queries
• Reviewing work and supporting junior team members
• Helping maintain effective reporting and working-paper standards
• Using cloud accounting technology to support efficient client service

About You

You will have strong experience within UK accountancy practice and be confident managing client relationships and a varied general practice workload.

• Previous experience managing or substantially supporting a client portfolio
• Strong accounts preparation and review experience
• Exposure to management accounts, VAT and tax work
• Confidence advising clients and handling more complex queries
• Strong organisation and attention to detail
• Good commercial awareness
• Experience supporting or developing junior colleagues
• Confident communication and relationship-management skills

ACA, ACCA or equivalent experience would be highly relevant at this level, although the Brevo candidate’s individual ACA qualification has not been made an absolute requirement.
